Gearbox racing making a comeback?

We're nearly set for the road for Tullyallen Championship Round 1 at Watergrasshill, Cork. If you were to look at the entry list I think the biggest surprise is the big entry of Gearbox! 16 entries will take on the short track with some veterans of Irish Karting and veterans of KZ. It's the biggest entry in a long time I believe which is great to see.

Danny Hyland who won the Northern Irish 125 Superkart Championship will as always compete in his LGK kart. Winning in KZ and Superkarts is nothing new for Danny so he'll be on to keep an eye on this weekend and the whole season.

Shane Crosbie who's a veteran of Irish karting having raced JICA, Rotax, X30, KF2, KZ and probably more comes into another year being one of the favorites. Having so much track knowledge makes it hard to beat him but can he take the fight to the other veterans? We'll soon find out.

Ian Walsh and Michael Curran are two massively fast and experienced KZ Karters having raced in Ireland for many years and abroad a few times, these two will be tough to beat. Ian and Danny had fantastic battles in 2022 and Michael will certainly add to the list of drivers who could take victory.

Kevin Shine may not be a new name to the scene but his MS chassis is, or at least in the TKC championship. Kevin having raced for years has taken on the task of representing the Czech brand MS Kart which has been very successful in the UK.

We've others such as Emmett Farrell, Gavin Craigie, Olivier O'Toole etc all making progress on speed. They may not be front runners at the start but I hope they'll provide some surprises through the year.
