As of my current writing, certainty is elusive in this matter as some manufacturers and FIA are engaging in debates on the issue. Racing equipment often features a crucial FIA hologram sticker, serving as confirmation that the gear adheres to safety standards. This is particularly evident in car-related items like fireproof suits, boots, gloves, and other safety gear.
Looking ahead to 2024, brace yourself for an increase in the cost of these hologram stickers, ranging from 21% to a staggering 549%, contingent on the homologated product. This revelation comes belatedly, with major manufacturers such as Alpinestar, OMP, and Sparco having already established their pricing strategies for the upcoming year.
The situation as revealed a email, appears to be quite challenging. Engaging in dialogue with the FIA has proven to be a formidable task, as they seem unwilling to yield on the matter. The worry is that with a price increase, people will chose a cheaper item which in safety isn't wise.
For now this doesn't include Karting equipment but don't be shocked to see it included in the near future as hologram stickers is to be introduced.
