Pros and cons - Pros are you'll have a competitive race no matter which championship you take part in. Engines and parts are easy to get. Ideal preparation for Senior racing.

Cons are that it can get pricey if you find yourself being competitive. Can be tough to compete up front in if Father/son or daughter. Recommend being with a team which costs more.

 JUNIOR ROTAX MAX

Like the Rotax package more? This is ideal for you.

125CC 2 STROKE

COMBINED WEIGHT 148KG

POWER - 23BHP

TOP SPEED - 120KMH

Where you can race - Tullyallen Kart Club and Northern Irish Championships.

Second hand cost - €2,500 - €6,000

Pros and cons - Good reliable engine. Good class to prepare you for Senior racing.

Cons - Can't race it in Motorsport Ireland. Mojo tyres aren't massively liked I believe.

Tips - If you want to race in numerous Junior events maybe this isn't the right class. If you're mostly based in Northern Irish racing and don't mind doing TKC events then it's the one for you.

 JUNIOR TILLOTSON T4

Missed out on the younger classes? This may be for you.

Where you can race - Tillotson Regional Series and Motorsport Ireland.

Second hand cost - €2,400 - €3,500

Pros and cons - Pros if you missed out on the younger classes this is also a good started class. It's also friendly to work on if you're not experienced.

Cons - Motorsport Ireland only host a few events for these karts but you do have the Regional series that hold more.
